Born and raised in Nashville/Tennessee, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter bears a big name: her grandfather was the country legend Hank Williams. Her father, Hank Williams Jr. tried to keep her away from show business all the time, with no success.
In 2005 the first album of this beautiful and charismatic woman “The ones we never knew” was released.
A very mature and wonderful debut album full of tender and profound moments. This album, from its hushed moments of solo guitar and voice to its sweeping crescendos of rhythm and strings, is all about Holly Williams, an artist already as distinctive as any others who bear her surname.
In November 2005 Holly Williams performed in Europe for the first time, as the opener for Keith Urban in front of a large audience. She also found herself on stage with the likes of Billy Bob Thornton, Ron Sexsmith, Laura Cantrell, Kasey Chambers and Jessi Alexander.
Her European Solo Tour set up for spring 2006 had to be cancelled one day before the first concert due to a car accident she was involved in. As a result of this, Holly took a complete break in 2006 for recovering reasons and started playing again at the end of that year in the US.
A second studio album will be released and presented live worldwide in 2009. It will be characterized by contemporary country-influences, which reflect her very own experiences, but also global topics. Consider it to be a sensitive and impulsive experience once again.
