NEW ALBUM IN 2010!
Raul Paz’ debut album „Cuba Libre” already characterized him as a remarkable musician, selling more than 100.000 copies in the USA. He soon was awarded “Best Male Singer” by the “New York Music Press”. After this success he came back with a real masterpiece. Raul's second album "Mulata" (2004) contained a masterly fusion of traditional Cuban music in combination with Hip-Hop, Dub- and Pop-elements, co-produced and remixed at Mousse T's Peppermint-Studios.
His shows at some of the most prestigious European festivals such as Womad, Roskilde and Arezzo-Wave revealed that Raul Paz is also an extraordinarily gifted live-performer. No surprise to former collaborators like Ricky Martin, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente and the "Fania All Stars", who unanimously agreed that Raul Paz will be one of the greatest artists of his genre soon! His first German club-tour in 2004 received an amazing response from audience and critics alike. His third Album „Revolucion“ mixed in Paris and mastered in New York at Sterling Sound Studios was released in 2005.
In 2006 he spent much time on the recording of his last studio album “En Casa” in Cuba. Besides the musical aspect of producing it in Cuba - the surrounding area enabled him to be in the perfect mood to produce a perfect album mixing the traditional Cuban rhythms and the musical memory of his youth - he was the first exile Cuban musician who was allowed to re-enter the country due to an official invitation by the Cuban minister of culture.
In May 2007, he presented “En Casa” finally live in Cuba. This historical show in Havana was released all over Europe as a “Special CD/DVD” named “¡En Vivo!” in 2008. "¡En Vivo!" is a wonderful result and testimony of this return, a compilation of his most beautiful songs, recorded live in two exceptional places in Havana and Pinar del Rio, Rauls hometown in Cuba.
After a highly praised show as the headliner at Musica del Mondo - Festival in Elba Raul Paz presented this new album live on tour all over Europe in autumn 2008. In 2009 he took a creative break before returning to the stage with a new album in 2010.
