Selah Sue is synonymous with a striking young voice in a striking combination. Sanne Putseys' lyrics are white, her voice sounds black. "I write like a singer-songwriter but I prefer to sing 'black music'. Soul or blues or ska or ragga or drum'n'bass." Everything autobiographically from the heart. Selah Sue has never been heard on radio and has not yet released anything. Even so she has the support of 'soulmate' Milow and the AB and she shares her manager with Gabriel Rios. Selah Sue has a whole lot of future and is taking her time to trace it out properly. Because even though she inimitably covers Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse and comes across as very mature, almost everything is new to her. She still has a lot of music to hear. She still wants to try a lot of things out. Within an undefined period of time to be seen with a small but impressive band and a solid and well-balanced repertoire. Meanwhile Selah Sue dreams of an electric guitar and remains cool and collected. "I'm happy with every little bit of success. But then I never expect too much."
