The extraordinary Austrian singer-songwriter, Marie Spaemann, presents us her very own song treasures with cello and loop station.
She wraps profound lyrics in beguiling rhythms and melodies and easily enchants 47,000 spectators in Vienna with an impressive stage performance and her authentic personality.
The Viennese pop artist with a classical background and a characteristic voice released an exquisite singer- songwriter debut album " titled Gap", in which the experiences from a busy and rich concert activity clearly come to bear - Unconventionally and without regard for boundaries she oscillates between pop, soul and jazz.
Her debut album was released on 25.10.2019 in Germany!
The musical path of the cello-playing singer-songwriter Marie Spaemann is characterized on the one hand by a lively and varied concert activity, and on the other hand by her contemplative and idiosyncratic approach to the various forms of artistic creation.
With her cello playing alone, Marie Spaemann won the international Johannes Brahms competition; a few years later, she toured Germany and Austria as the solo opening act and singer of the electro-swing pioneer [dunkelbunt] and released her first songs.
In addition to performances as a soloist accompanied by numerous orchestras - she currently performs regularly in front of 10,000 people on a European tour with Hans Zimmer - her concerts take her to a wide variety of stages at international festivals. Among them are the "Alpen Arte" and "More Ohr Less" festivals in Austria, "Next Generation" in Switzerland, the "Podiumfestival Esslingen" and "Konzerthaus International" in New York, as well as numerous pop clubs, the "Wiener Festwochen", the "Parkbeben Festival" and the "Fusion Festival" in Germany.
The wonderful solo debut of Marie Spaemann (cello, vocals) is followed by "Metamorphosis" in December 2020. With Christian Bakanic (accordion) at her side, she stylistically continues and clearly expands what had begun with "Gap", her debut work. Sie not only enters her own cosmos in symbiosis with Bakanic, but creates completely new worlds with him. On the cello with bows and pickings, percussive to melodic. Accompaniment and guidance. Variety and virtuosity that breaks boundaries, opens musical spaces and fills them with extraordinary vocals and lyrics. Or just with accordion - which congenially threads its special sound moments and facets, sometimes advancing to become the protagonist itself, to finally open the curtain again for Spaemann.
