LRK Trio
“This group is nothing less than a ‘kraftpakke’ (power pack). A sensation. The concert will be remembered for a very long time.” (Molde Festival)

Artist information
Strictly speaking, it’s a piano trio – but it's not just another piano trio; the award winning Moscow-based group really is something else. If there is something that can be marked as Russian jazz scene's hot export, that is the LRK Trio.
Russian names can be difficult to memorize. That is why pianist Evengy Lebedev, bassist Anton Revnyuk and drummer Ignat Kravtsov call themselves simply LRK Trio.
On the crossroads between American jazz, modern European instrumental music and Russian classical music tradition, they immerse an abundance of timbre and colors within their music which can puzzle an unprepared listener, not just in sheer volume of instruments used but even more so, in rich harmonic textures, ever-shifting grooves and polyrhythmic patterns and above all in generous outpour of melodies which instantly remind of the vast legacy of Russian classical and folkloric music. Yet, LRK Trio are very modern in their sound. Though they even add electronic elements to their music sometimes they never let their listeners forget that they come from a distinctive, globally influential musical culture of their native country.
LRK Trio won the Russian Music Critics Union’s Jazz Release of the Year honorable mention, was featured in Europe Jazz Media Chart, earned the Special Jury Award at the Made in New York Jazz Competition adjudicated by Lenny White, Mike Stern, and Randy Brecker, and Special Prize on DC Jazz Prix.
They already played at renowned festivals and venues all over Russia and beyond like Triumph of Jazz Festival Moscow, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Hall, Zaryadye Concert Hall Moscow, XJazz Festival Berlin, Jazzweekend Brussels, Amersfoort Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scotts London, Molde Jazz Festival and toured several times in Japan, Australia and Korea.
